A study of the Aztec stone dipicting the goddess Coyolxauhque. This stone was discovered by workmen excavating the cellar of a bookstore in 1978, It shows the godess in a dismembered form. The stone is part of the huge number of prehispanic stone carvings that were once part of Tenochitlán, the Aztec center that once stood in the lake which is now Mexico City.
