An oil study of the River Lacantún taken from close to the village of Lopez Mateos in Chiapas, the river connects various villages in this area and lies very close to the border of Guatemala.
The river area is abundant with bird life and inside some lagoons
are Cayman crocodiles.
The canoe in the foreground is typical of the area, having been carved from a tree
trunk.
